Hey Folks,

Since December 2014, eleven and a half years, I have put out a post here after every Council Meeting. Trying to keep it short, but explaining in as plain a language as I can muster the decisions we made, the way I voted, and the reasons for my voting that way. I went into this work, first as a Councillor then as Mayor, with transparency front of mind. I can’t guarantee you will agree with how I vote (it democracy, and people have different values and priorities) but the least I can do is be accountable for the vote. And all the votes are still there, even the ones I (with hindsight) might have gotten wrong.

For the first time over that decade plus, this website is facing some technical challenges of a malware nature. Previous technical glitches were quick to fix, this one is taking some time to fix as it seems to be coming back once repairs are done. Not sure if that is a coordinated thing ( I hope not, it would be coincidental timing) or if its just regular WordPress Fuckery and we just haven’t located the security gap. As a result, updates will be slow for a bit, and there may be missing pages and broken links. We think we have the malware part licked and just need to replace the broken pages from my backup files, but updates will be sketchy, some pages might be gone forever, and the newsletter function seems to be down for a bit. So hold tight, Council reports will be slow coming for a little longer.

Which is too bad, because we got some great work done at Council this week! Stay tuned!
